The Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds is proud to have recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. It all began in 1949, when Queen Wilhelmina returned a gift collected by the people of the islands with one instruction: to create foundations that support cancer patients in need. That’s how PWF was founded in Curaçao, under the leadership of Mrs. G.M. Pieters-Witkam.
Over the years, the foundation’s mission has become more focused: providing guidance, psychosocial care, and community support. Today, a dedicated team of professionals, together with well-trained volunteers ensure that no one has to face cancer alone. Every cancer patient can register free of charge. After an initial intake, they receive a tailored program to support them during treatment.
Every September, volunteers take to the streets for the annual Collection Month. Every donation stays right here on the island, helping cancer patients and their families directly. And new this year: each collection box now carries a Sentoo QR code. With just a quick scan, you can donate instantly through your own banking app. No cash needed and no risks involved, just a simple and secure way to support those who need it most. Donating has never been easier or safer.
A legacy built on care and compassion
